Chitwan National Park

The first day of chitwan we took a 4wd jeep ride in the park, it lasted around 6 hours, we saw rhinos, loads of deer and peacocks, wild boar and makak monkeys, then we went to the crocodile breeding center and had a look round there.

Today we took an elephant ride in the morning which lasted about 2 1/2 hours and we got really close to 2 rhinos. Then in the afternoon we went on a canoe ride and brushed past some marsh mugger crocodiles. The canoe ended up at the elephant breeding center where we fed cookies to the baby elephant.

Tomorrow we are moving on to Nagakot, which is supposed to be the best place to see the sunset and sunrise over the Himalayas and then on to 'The Last Resort' to do the longest free falling bungee jump in the world (160m), canyoning and rock climbing. The next post maybe in a few days at the start of the organised trek in Kathmandu because we are unsure if we have internet access.

Rafting

Namaste (hi), we have just finished the 4 day raft. The Marsyangdi river was un-raftable due to the water volume being too low, so we did 2 days on the River Trisuli and the 2 days on the River Seti. We got to swim in both rivers aswel, the Trisuli was freezing, where as the Seti was a bit warmer. Jack was the only man to abandon ship through one of the rapids. We camped out by the side of the river at nights and were one with nature when it came to the toilet facilities.
We are now in Chitwan National Park and we have checked into the Jungle Safari Lodge which is very nice and we have just been to see a show of local music and dance. Tomorrow we have a 4wd jeep ride booked for the whole day to see rhinos, tigers, bears etc in the park and then the day after we have elephant riding, canoeing - maybe past some crocs and a visit to the elephant breeding center.
